Bronny Speed of AccountantsIQ was delighted to be invited to Simon Grant’s recent special retirement dinner held in Sydney.
Many of you would know that Simon has had an esteemed career spanning 40 years in the accounting profession, with close to 23 years at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) including the past 8 years in the role of Group Executive Advocacy and International Development.
For many years Bronny worked closely with Simon in the advocacy space as the Leader of Financial Advice at CA ANZ. Over those 40 years Simon has achieved a great deal. His dedication to supporting members and his drive for positive change in our profession has been outstanding, and most appreciated by many, particularly those who have worked closely with him.
“I feel very fortunate and privileged to have had his unwavering support in our quest to enable accountants to provide basic superannuation advice without the need for an AFSL – limited or full – at both industry and federal government levels. There is no-one who has backed our constant drive for changes to the system to reflect the work CAs do in their ordinary course of business more than Simon has, and I thank him dearly for backing our efforts in this space,” said Speed.
So – to our dear friend Simon – on behalf of the vast number of members who, like me, are sad to see you go, we wish you a retirement full of fun and happiness and we thank you for all you’ve done for us over a glorious career.
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and successful 2025.
